Browser Wars: Opera Vs. Chrome Vs… Mr. Potato Head?

Get your Game Face/ “Angry Eyes” on cause the browser wars are back in full swing. This time its Opera Vs. Chrome Vs. Mr. Potato Head. So it all started when Google released a little video demonstrating the speed of Chrome.

In the days following that little video Opera responded with this:

I think it’s pretty funny, but very telling. Google’s browser is hands down far superior to Opera in my opinion.
The funniest part of these videos to me is that here once again Google makes something Uber-Cool, and Opera can’t seem to catch up. I think this was Video Fail on Opera’s part because they really showed you the “Quality” you can expect with their browser. The main issue I have with both of these videos is the potato abuse. Mr. Potato Head Pwns you, FTW!

Apple Finally passes Microsoft as worlds biggest Tech Company!

Well folks, its finally happened. Apple has surpassed Microsoft as the worlds biggest Technology company. It’s not surprising considering the last several Microsoft products by comparison to Apple’s products. The Ipad and Iphone have become a huge part of everyday tech life and the only way Vista is a part of everyday tech life is if you work for a computer repair company. While Windows 7 is awesome, consumers still have a bad taste in their mouths. “Market Cap” is defined as “The dollar value of a company’s outstanding shares”. Wednesday, Apple’s sharess Dropped $1.11, to sit at $244.11 at closing. This makes it’s market cap about $222 BILLION. Microsofts stocks dropped in the same range at $1.06, closing at $25.01. This puts their market cap at about $219 Billion.

The only U.S. business with a higher market value is Exxon Mobil Corp. The oil company’s market cap is about $279 billion, based on Wednesday’s closing price of $59.31. They were quoted as saying “Hey, at least we’re not BP.” Just kidding, I added that.

Catching Up

Wow, so its been a few months and I hope you are all doing well. So much has happened in such a short time, the Ipad wasn’t as much of a flop as much of the internet (myself included) thought, the Iphone 4g gets leaked by our friends over at gizmodo, an oil spill.

So I got to play with the Ipad for a few hours the other day and I have to say I am considering purchasing one. I messed around with it the day it came out and I thought it was cool, I have to say the product is growing on me as more apps become available. Ive been doing a bunch of work interacting with customers lately and I was sitting thinking “Man it would be great if I had an Ipad to take my notes with”. For those of you who don’t know me, my handwriting is atrocious. In fact it is so bad that it actually has been questioned if I was writing english text, or possibly hieroglyphics. So there I was Ipad in hand and I started messing with the Notepad program, and I have to say it wasn’t half bad. I could actually get used to it and I think it would increase my note takeing by atleast +5 (Chance to crit increased by 10).

Some of the other things I have been toying around with is some new 3d TV stuff and OMFG has anyone seen the new Samsung 55 inch 3D LED-LCD HDTV 1080P. Holy freakin crap.  The Picture on it is beyond sweet. Then again for the $6,299.98 Price tag that goes with it, it better be. I swear that thing is lighter than my Droid.

Speaking of Droid (Yes, here it comes Dan and Charlie), I’m so freaking ticked off that this thing right now I can’t even see straight. Since applying the new update there has been nothing but issues (but hey, we’ve got multitouch and a better picture gallery). From the slider to answer the phone’s image being SIDEWAYS (um, hello), to just overall decreased speed and reliability issues. I’m a little bit upset. I love the android platform, and everything Google touches is gold. However, there needs to be some new fixes from Google on some of this stuff. As difficult as it is for me to say, I am planning on getting the new Iphone 4G when it comes out next month (Yes, Steve Jobs….We Know.).  Android will always hold a special place in my heart, but that new Iphone is gonna be sick! (Check back in a few days for a write up on that new little toy).
