Microsoft Surface Computing

Straight out of the movie “Minority Report” comes Microsoft Surface Computing. We first saw this about 2 years ago but for those of you who haven’t seen this yet check out this video.

Now this you have to admit is pretty sweet. Imagine being able to just drag and drop the plan you want on your new Android phone at the store.

Now your probably asking well, they were talking as early as ’07 but we still haven’t seen em in stores yet. Thats probably because of the $12,500 Per table cost on it. Quite frankly, until the price comes down, you wont be seeing in your local stores. However there are some higher end places that are starting to carry them. At Barclay’s bank, your paper work to fill out a new account will be done on the surface computer. I personally think this technology is rockin, but the price tag is way too prohibitive. Once the price comes down it will be seen out in public. In fact for those of us Microsoft Certified guys, they are already offering a Partner program specifically for the Surface Computer. I think I’ll wait to jump all over that, but in the future who knows.

Droid Does!

Ok, so among my friends, its no secret that I love my droid. Yet certain people still haven’t gotten a clue (Dan), lol. I mean come on, Open development, Replaceable Battery, and no AT&T. That should be enough. But no, google had to take it beyond that. Pretty much, if it can be done on the iphone, rest assured the droid can do it.

The only issues I have with the droid, they have pretty much taken care of. The back of the phone used to come off, however, the last time I went to a Verizon store they gave me a new one. I did complain about the battery life, but found out that even though the Verizon people tell you the blackberry charger will work with it, it wont. After charging it fully with the Droid charger, it works great. In an effort to extend the battery life, I disabled the Wi-Fi and turned it so that the GPS isn’t running all the time. The speed of the thing is great and the security tools are very cool.

One thing that ticked me off was that like 2 weeks after getting my droid, they bring out the Nexus one. Come on guys, you tell us like crazy that droid does, and its all that and a bag of potato chips and then put out the next one without even waiting a few weeks. Now honestly, its not that big of a deal because everything the Nexus One has, dare I say, Droid does. Its mainly a style change. Lets face it, Nexus one looks cool.

Well for now, I’m pretty happy with my Droid.
