Social media has been a huge shift in our culture. From the way we communicate with friends and family, to the way we buy things. Social Media is everywhere. Now, the Catholic church has not been exactly the most “up with the times” group, but it seems that this is changing. Earlier last year Pope Benedict XVI started a You Tube channel, and also released Facebook and even an IPhone app to help spread the gospel. Now he is urging priests to blog.
Personally, many of you know that I am a Christian. I think that you have to reach people where they are and on their terms. This is a great move on the part of Pope Benedict XVI to reach a younger generation as well as the older.
